Be Strong in the Grace

The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy, his son in the faith, to “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus”. Paul knew that Timothy would face many challenges and much persecution in his ministry for Jesus Christ. He encouraged Timothy to “endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ”, and to avoid entangling “himself with the affairs of this life”. Paul said that God had stood with him even when all men had forsaken him, and that God had delivered him from “the mouth of the lion” in his own ministry. He knew that Timothy would need God’s divine assistance to live a sanctified life and to succeed in his ministry.

The good news for us today is that we have a loving, Heavenly Father who wants to help his children. God invites us “to come boldly unto His Throne of Grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”. This grace to help certainly applies to our salvation, but also applies to other needs that we encounter in this life after we are sanctified by the Holy Ghost. God instructs us to cast all of our care upon Him because he cares for us, loves us, and wants to bring his divine assistance into our everyday life situations.

Take your burdens and concerns to God’s throne today through prayer, knowing that God’s grace will be sufficient for you, and that His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
