What gift are you giving?

In the Christmas story, the wisemen bring gifts to the Christ child.  These gifts were of significant value and fit for a king or ruler of that day. As tradition continues, most people will exchange gifts with family and friends, expressing their love and appreciation for their relationships.  As we move through this Christmas week and into the new year, take stock as to what gifts we are presenting Jesus.  Have you consecrated your life to him?  Is he receiving all of your talents?

Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Merry Christmas and God Bless!!

Luke 2: 10-11

During the Christmas and New Year's time, most people focus their time and attention on family.  Some will travel great distances just to see family during this time of year.  Christmas brings a time of happiness and joy that we are eager to share with our loved ones.

During this season, let's remember that true joy comes from accepting the Christ child into our hearts and lives.  We should share that message of true joy.  It is the same message of joy that the angel shared with the shepherds in Luke 2: 10-11:

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

2 Thessalonians 2:13

A younger member of our congregation mentioned last week their thankfulness for God's convicting power.  How true that is!  If the Lord never dealt with us in our sins, never presented us with the realization that there is a void in our lives, we would never realize our true need for God. He has actually chosen each one of us for a very special purpose in his kingdom.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 says "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.

If you feel the call of the Lord, his convicting spirit in your life, don't turn him away. He wants to give you salvation through the sanctifying power of his wonderful spirit.

Happy Thanksgiving

1 Chronicles 16: 8-10 states, "Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.  Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.  Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD."

Enjoy your day of Thanks.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)

What a mighty, wonder God we serve.  Remember to be thankful for every “little” thing today.

Philippians 4:6-7 states, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Psalms 100 reads, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.  Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
