Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

Have you ever really thought about what "perfect peace" is? How can we be in perfect peace in a world with all the uncertainty and challenges; the politicians remind us regularly of how bad and risky things are? None of us are permanent residents, but rather travelers to eternity. That brings its own uncertainty and fear. Good things happen to "bad" people and bad things happen to "good" people; the scripture tells us the rain falls on the just and unjust.

But, based on the scripture, there is a case for perfect peace! If your sins have been forgiven and God is in your heart, it is possible to keep your heart stayed on him. We can gain the perspective that we are a servant to the best Master a servant can have. He loved us enough to offer his Son as a sacrifice for our sin. He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. He knows us better than we know ourselves (Psalms 139), He knows the future, He loves us and suffers from absolutely no earthly limits.  "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him" (2 Chr 16:9) . We're instructed to "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (Malachi 3:10).

So today, I want to examine myself to make sure I've brought all the tithes of my heart to him, to make sure He is ruling the throne of my heart, and then to live in the peace that He has as He pours the blessing I can't receive.

Healing Power of God

Lately, the great healing power of God has been on my mind.  This subject reminds me of the sick woman who simply touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was immediately made whole:

Matthew 9:20-22 “And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.  And the woman was made whole from that hour.”

It is a simple yet difficult place to find one’s self in when we realize we need a Savior, a Healer.  Understanding that we have an underlying need of God in all our life to heal us from Sin will lead us to Jesus.  If only we could all be as bold and humble as this woman, who reached out in faith and touched Jesus, we too can be healed.

Romans 13:8

Romans 13:8 states, "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."

1 John 4:18 states, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."

The love that is described above is and can only be of God.  For it is impossible to truly know love without him.  This fulfillment is a witness of the creator. Perfect love: a fruit made possible by the Comforter (Holy Ghost), which is a witness of Christ, which is a witness of God.  It is the opposite of the hate that can be observed in this world. To understand this perfect love is to be at peace.

Isaiah 40: 13-14 (KJV)

Isaiah 40:13-14 states, "Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath taught him?  With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?"

When I read and understand these verses, I'm reminded of the majesty of our God.  He is the ultimate authority and in complete control.  To see glimpses of his workings and miracles in our lives is true comfort.  He can make a way for each one of us because he has overcome this world.  We have little control in this life, but we serve a mighty God who delights in us.

As poets, scribes, songwriters have written of his glory one particular verse comes to my mind.  Acts 17:28, "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring."

Whatever you face today, He is enough.  My God can deliver from sin and relieve any burden. Surrender to Him, He loves you.

1 Corinthian 12:12-31 (KJV)

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.  For the body is not one member, but many.  If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?  And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?  If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?"

"But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.  And if they were all one member, where were the body?  But now are they many members, yet but one body.  And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.  Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:  And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.  For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:  That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.  And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it."

"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.  Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?  Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?  But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way."
