Circle of Influence

Whether we realize it or not, our life is a pattern for someone else to follow.  No matter how independent we think are or how insignificant we may feel; the way we live, the way we act, the way we think, influences others.  So this week think about your circle of influence and simply remember let the love of God shine through you for all to see.  You can make a difference for Christ!

Matthew 5:16 states, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Have a great week!

Jesus is Our Anchor

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)

Have you noticed that the world just keeps on changing? The turbulence in our country’s economy for the last four years has negatively affected many of us and our neighbors….and there continues to be much unrest in the countries of the world around us. The only constant seems to be change. Jesus Christ told his disciples “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Put your trust in Jesus Christ today…he is our anchor in the midst of a stormy, ever-changing world.

Time is filled with swift transition,
Naught of earth, unmoved can stand,
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
(Song: Hold to God’s Unchanging hand)

Matthew 9:36

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

This scripture demonstrates Christ’s great love and compassion for us all.  During the Christmas season we are all reminded to think about, pray for, and take action to uplift those around us.  So as you navigate through this busy and sometimes stressful season please remember to follow the pattern he left for us by taking time to help and encourage those who are in need.  By blessing someone else you’ll be surprised how much you will be blessed!  I hope you all have a great week!

1 Thessalonians 5:18

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  1 Thessalonians 5:18

Take time to reflect in your heart on what you have to be thankful for.  We are truly blessed, if for no other reason than our God, our creator has given us life.  Treasure each day and really live and enjoy the life that God has gifted to us.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

I don't know about you, but most of my prayer life is spent asking God for things. Asking for help, for comfort and love: for myself, my children, my grandchildren, my family, and my friends.  And there is nothing wrong with that. 1 Peter 5:7 says “casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.

But, perhaps this week we should pray a prayer of thanksgiving for all that God has done for us, for this beautiful Salvation that he has given to us.  St. John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  Pray a prayer of thanksgiving for the fellowship of God’s people as we read about in Psalm 133:1 "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"

So, this week, especially this week, let us all thank God for his love, his caring, and his mercy, that he so bountifully gives to us on a daily basis.  Psalm 100: 4-5 "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."
