The Potter's House

In Jeremiah, one of the mysteries of serving the Lord is revealed. Jeremiah 18:1-6 states, "The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,  Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel."

When we come to the Lord in need of forgiveness and sanctification, Galatians 2:20 suggests we are destroyed as this marred vessel was when it states, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

… and we made new again as was that marred vessel.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

While we are instantly perfect in the Spirit that God places in our hearts, what matters is our present situation today.  It seems to suggest that we remain on the potter’s wheel every day.   Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:31, says “I die daily” and with that comes Psalm 68:19 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits”

Ephesians 4: 31-32 (KJV

Ephesians 4:31-32 states, "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

This week as you interact with those around you, whether they are co-workers, friends, a stranger, or close family members; remember to always let Christ shine through you. Be a good example to everyone you come in contact with!

Have a great week!

Peace

Jeremiah 29: 11-13 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

Matthew 5: 6  "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."

In life, we find that there is only one thing that can satisfy our soul. We can seek many things, but they will never bring contentment that comes from seeking and finding God and His righteousness.  When we find that which can only be found in a true relationship with God, our heart delights in peace.

Have a blessed week!

Camp Meeting

Our thoughts turn to our 79th Annual Camp Meeting being held in Perry, GA from July 15th through July 22nd.

"But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching…" Titus 1:3  The preaching of the Word has always been the primary function of the church, and we have a rich heritage of anointed preaching in Christ's Sanctified Holy Church.

Click on the link below and listen as voices from the past blend with voices of the present in proclaiming the timeless message of gospel truth.  As we prepare and attend Camp Meeting, let us all earnestly pray that the Lord will anoint the preaching of his Word for his own glory and the prosperity of the kingdom of Christ.

"…it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."  1 Corinthians 1:21

Receiving the Holy Spirit

John 16:7 states, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."

In Luke 24:49 we read, "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."

While Christ was on earth he patiently worked with his disciples to explain to them a simple truth about his purpose. He reiterated many times that He would not always be with them in the flesh but would abide with them forever by His Spirit living in their hearts. After heeding Jesus instruction not to leave Jerusalem after His resurrection, the disciples and many others waited in an upper room and received the “Promise” of his Holy Spirit as detailed in the second chapter of the Book of Acts.

This experience of receiving the Holy Spirit can be yours today. You must first make a decision you want to serve the Lord above anything and repent. Once you have truly forsaken your sins and repented, God will forgive you of all your sins. Once forgiven, you are then ready to receive the Holy Spirit. By simply asking in faith and totally committing your life to him, He will send His Holy spirit into your heart and life to abide with you forever. Give Jesus Christ a chance and trust Him today. You will be forever changed!

Have a great week!
