Acts 3: 6-9 (KJV)

Acts 3: 6-9 states, "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.  And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.  And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.  And all the people saw him walking and praising God."

The Lord  directed me toward the scripture of the lame man that lay at the gate. This man had a physical disability that caused paralysis, and because of that he became a beggar and asked for alms. The sixth verse in this chapter stood out to me, when the Lord ministered to this man physically, but more importantly his spiritual state was changed. The lame man probably anticipated receiving money as Peter came by, but Peter provided the man with something more precious then silver or gold. Peter was able to offer him healing through the power of Jesus Christ and because of that the lame man’s life was drastically changed, much greater than money could ever do.

It is a great thing to minister to someone who is in need of physical help or has monetary needs, but ultimately the best thing we can do for others is to present Jesus Christ to them. This may come through the temporal needs as a start, but introducing them to Christ is the greatest gift.

I want to do my best throughout the week to present Jesus Christ and the gift of sanctification through His spirit; I hope you have the same determination as well.

Love and Prayers,

Bro. Matt Collins
