Fellowship

The dictionary states fellowship is a society of equals. Bound by a callling, higher than everyday values or desires and ambitions.

In Philippians 2 we read,If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:”

Ephesians 3:9, states, And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:”

Ephesians 3:16-19 further reads, “ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

The fellowship of Christ and the fellowship of God’s people are all one and the same. The same spirit that makes us heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, (Romans 8:17) is also that spirit which binds us together and causes us to love each another.

John 13:34 states, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Love of the Father, love of the brethren, fellowship with God’s Spirit, and fellowship with God’s people are so intertwined that they cannot be separated.

Because we are “Sanctified and set apart for the Masters use.”
