The Light of the World is Jesus

Genesis 1: 2-3 (KJV) states, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

Darkness differs from the mere absence of light.

In Exodus 10: 21-23 (KJV) we read, “And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.”

In our world darkness represents SIN. SIN is born into our hearts, from the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden. SIN separates us from God. Just as God and God alone has the power to speak, and create Light, only God can remove the darkness of SIN from our souls and lives.

John 1: 1-5 (KJV) states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

St. John 8:12 (KJV) reads, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

Only through Christ can we get out of the darkness of SIN and into God's marvelous light. When God’s light comes in, darkness must flee. And with God’s light comes peace, contentment and Joy.

Try Jesus. He will bring Light to your world!
