Psalms 90:1-4 (KJV)

A teacher friend shared this testimony with me, hope it blesses you!  Have you ever been stuck, running through the rain without an umbrella? This happens to me sometimes, I’m in my classroom when a downpour occurs and it’s time to go to my car. Guess where my umbrella is? In the car. After getting my kids, my bags, everything else in, finally, I get in, drenched, shivering and miserable. Other times, I am more prepared. I pop my umbrella up and I am protected from the weather.

Isn’t life sometimes like that? It’s like the world starts raining down its negativity, its harshness, its condemnation. The last thing we want is to be drenched in such rain. Remember that God and His love is like our umbrella, our protection, our solace in the storm. It can be raining all around us, harsh words, anger, strife, ungodly behaviors, and negativity, but under our umbrella, we are guarded safe and secure from all alarm. This umbrella of God’s love can guard our hearts, allowing the Holy Spirit to keep out what isn’t of Him and keep in what is of Him. When we pop up the umbrella of God’s love, we stand out in the crowd, and can offer and share His love with the people who are walking beside us. We can invite them to come under our umbrella of love as we share with them the love of our Savior.

Psalms 91:1-4 states, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Don’t get drenched in negativity this week! Pop open God’s umbrella of love.
