Be Diligent

The Bible calls for us to be diligent in many areas of our walk with God. Deuteronomy 4:9 says, “Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons”.

But what exactly does diligent mean? Dictionary.com says that it is "constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything".

The passage above calls for us not only to remember past miracles we have experienced, but to keep them in our hearts and teach to our children and grandchildren. We must do this with persistence and passion so that our families understand what it means to trust in God. They need to understand that they can expect the same level of miracles in their own lives.

I would like to challenge everyone this week to share one wonderful miracle with a younger member of your family. Not just share it, but tell the story with all the emotions that came with it. This will make it real for them and bring it back to our remembrance. Our diligence will pay off!!
