Brighton the Corner Where You Are
February 15, 2016, 3:11 PM

We sometimes sing a song titled "Brighten the Corner Where You Are" written by Ina Ogdon.  The song is worth quoting almost entirely.
“Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do, do not wait to shed your light afar; to the many duties ever near you now be true, brighten the corner where you are.  Here for all your talents you may surely find a need, here reflect the bright and morning star; even from your humble hand the bread of life may feed, brighten the corner where you are.  Just above are clouded skies that you may help to clear, let not narrow self your way debar; though into one heart alone may fall your song of cheer, brighten the corner where you are.”

It would be easy to wait until we can do something great, that might have a large impact on someone or that might bring us some individual satisfaction or glory....but most of the record we have of Jesus' ministry seems to be one-on-one, individual ministry.  If that was glorious enough for Jesus, how busy then we ought to be.  Col 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men".
