Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
October 15, 2018, 3:17 PM

In Ecclesiastes 3:1 we read, "“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”   The fourth verse in that chapter says “A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;”

As a young man growing up, I always wondered why the writer drew such stark contrasts in the comparisons in this passage of scripture. Add years of life experience and now the scripture becomes a little clearer. We all go through different seasons in our lives. We don’t all experience the same seasons together. Some go through a time to mourn or weep, while others are in their time to dance or laugh. That is life and our seasons can and will change quickly.

If you are in a season of weeping or mourning, remember soon will come seasons of laughter and dancing. Be patient, be loving and trust in God! He will give you what you need to make it through.

If you are in a season of laughing or dancing, remember how challenging it was going through the tougher seasons of your life. When you see tougher seasons occurring in other people’s lives, remember to be loving, patient, compassionate and in much prayer to God for them!
