Joshua 1:9 (KJV)

Life certainly has its ups and downs. It sometimes seems that in a blink of an eye your situation can go from great to challenging, or from difficult to wonderful. The beautiful thing is that God understands us completely, and He asks that we remember Him in the good times and the bad, and that we trust Him and His goodness.

Right after Moses died, Joshua had to have felt uncertain. The children of Israel had just wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, and the leader that they had trusted had just passed. Moses had mentored Joshua, and not only was Joshua likely dealing with personal grief for his loss, but he also now had responsibility for the entire nation of Israel. But God's message to Joshua was powerful and consistent:

Joshua 1:9, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with the withersoever thou goest."

What an awesome message! God is with you. Don't be afraid - you can meet your challenges boldly because God will walk with you. There's nothing God can't handle, and He'll be with you every step of the way.

Our amazing, unchanging God says the same to us today. Don't worry, don't be scared. Be strong, be bold, be courageous. God won't leave you. Trust in Him, and he will carry you through any situation. With God, there is nothing you can't handle.
